Are You What You Do?

Is there some task you do so well, That, for it, you'd go through Hell, So close to you, it's become a part Of you, like your heart? If, for you, the answer's “Yes,” You might as well confess, Friends will find out soon enough, From that, you can't hide, or bluff! When you are the thing you do, Others know the story of you, You can't lie, or try to hide it! Family and friends won't long abide it! That you're focused isn't bad, For your passion, just be glad, Some folks breathe, but never thrive, Hard to tell that they're alive! If you are completely driven, No other path are you given, You must do what you must do, Because your love is part of you! Cheetahs cannot change their spots, For, all over they have dots, Stealth is not the game they're in, So they have to race to win! And so it should be for you, To thine own self be true, You’ll not please all in the land, At the end of day, raise your hand And say, that this is how I must, Live until I turn to dust, And maybe even longer My love grows always stronger! Though you might try to disguise it, Most will soon realize it, That you are a person of passion, Though that might not be in fashion!
