Another Plays Your Part

I don't sniff your pillow anymore and no longer hug it late at night. For though your subtle scent still lingers, your photo is no longer in sight. Denying rumors of betrayal, you swore to me that your love was true. But despite claims of fidelity, you quickly severed my heart in two. You cavalierly brag to your friends that I'll not easily forget you. And I admit; I cried when you left, but those tears have dwindled to a few. Time's reduced you to a memory, erasing the scars left on my heart. And suddenly, all my dreams returned, although now, another plays your part. (Quatrain) 7/31/2015
