Love Poem: Another Better Place-
Emile Pinet Avatar

Another Better Place-

When you acquiesce to love,
passion erupts into flame.
(I miss you like the desert
misses the last drop of rain.)
And desire won’t be ignored,
despite risks of pain or shame.
(For when you left on that day,
there was nothing left but pain.)

A screwed up reality,
can take years to understand.
(I can't believe I hurt you,
cause you’re everything to me.)
Yet you’re willing to gamble,
blind to what fate holds in hand.
(And until love walked away,
I was just too blind to see.)

Guided by feelings of bliss,
you chase love’s elusive spark.
(How stupid I must have seemed,
exchanging love for a dream.)
And yet in fantasy's realm,
innocence fuels the dark.
(While all the time you struggled,
to stifle a silent scream.)

The feeling of betrayal
devastates your broken heart.
(Love brought you into my life,
betrayal drove you away.)
And white lies stripped of luster,
tore your paper dreams apart.
(And though you deserve much more,
I’m sorry’s all I can say.)

Sometimes it seems love offers
more to reject than embrace.
(If you can but forgive me,
I will try to heal your heart.)
And then hope can carry you,
to another better place.
(For despite what you’re thinking,
I have loved you from the start.)
