An Idiot's Guide To Being a Hero

An Idiot’s Guide to Being a Hero!
There are few that aspire to the wreath of a hero, A garland men give to a man who risks failure or death (Should that happen) to serve a ‘high purpose,’ a ‘life’ breath The coward won’t take! Do the brave plan it out or just grow Like a weed toward distinction, assumption of ‘Mantle’ More ‘Calling’ (than dreamt of) by strangers to fame or life’s praise? And yet men who will face ‘death un-rescued’ salute days The hero spends living, though their lives aren’t saved, wish him well! Do you dream ‘LOVE’ is yours? God awaits, a ‘late harvest Moselle’ that He'd mate with your palette? I know I would beam At such heaven! Perhaps a cold ‘brew’ is what you dream? Do weary find rest or are pilgrims more moved to divest All sin’s treasures? Could wicked game God on His fairgrounds? By Christ, is God hero to all those enslaved by their pride, Who continues to love those who fall by the wayside, The child is God’s hero who trusts all that’s needed abounds! Is ‘LOVE’ ever a cause? Can God’s Will be confining? Do angels need laws? Can possessions there foment a rift Or is gain seen in growth? Is LOVE only the one gift We need to feel loved? Is love’s gift mine alone when ‘saved’ bring To LOVE’s table the best that they have? Life brings problems, I’m guessing, to one who won’t love LOVE, who thinks love’s respect He ‘deserves’ for his actions (that make him a prospect For ‘Sainthood!’) This sinner calls “Hero,” each soul that ‘Love’ plumbs!
