Love Poem: An End

An End

So you want to feel me
Breathing by your side
But a cold wind is blowing
Your fickle candle’s flame
There’s a darkness in your eyes
As you close them
Shadowed by your sighs
To leave this all right now
Is to be what you hate
Say, breathe me in deeply
Taste me into your lungs
A flytrap only keeps what it can eat
And day always fades into night
Tonight
Say what you mean
Those cords are burning
And tired ears hold on for only so long
Fake it, like fakes tend to do
Sick of being mean? That’s sick of being you
The writing read from the wall
Read that all leaves, come autumn, fall
Goodbye
Words that rot away
Today
Farewell, words have longed to say
An end
