Allured By Love

She sits down in a chair
Afraid of what they’re thinking
She should know that they don’t care, but she won’t listen.
She picks up a guitar
She knows that they’re listening
She sings the truth about her life, everything comes to a halt.
She has no friends today
She looks down at what she’s wearing
Her voice will shake, her voice will tremble, why can’t they stop staring?
She whispers when she says;
I lost a lot of things when I lied, but when you left me standing there, I cried.

She walks into a new school
Afraid of what they’re thinking
She wants them to think she’s cool, first impressions count
She picks up her underwear
She knows that he’s watching
This is what her life has come to, moving way too fast
She has lots of friends today
Her virginity gone, her innocence gone, her love is a heart covered in frost
She whispers when she says;
I lot of people like me, all my friends are men, lying when they love me, being with them is not a
sin.

She’s sitting at her first real date
Afraid of what he’s thinking
All he’s looking for is sex, but she won’t understand
She picks herself up when they’re done
She knows he’s watching her leave
Now that he’s gotten what he wants, she knows she won’t be back.
She has no one at all today
She looks down at what she’s done
Only sixteen, mother of two, is this the end of all my fun?

She whispers when she says;
I don’t have a lot of things to give, you don’t even have a dad, but I promise you dears,
I’ll give you love, which is more than I ever had….
