All I Seem To Doubt

One thing I couldn’t take, disappointment in your eyes.
It all became so clear just like the bluest skies.
If I could do it over so much I would change.
It feels as if it all is now quite out of range.

I pick up the pieces of what’s left of my heart.
You still live within me although we are apart.
You could change my world with only a smile.
Opening my eyes, so that I could see for miles.

I try to just move on but you are still there.
I just can’t turn it off, pretend I didn’t care.
I also realize that I never meant you harm.
It concerns me deeply I caused so much alarm.

The pieces of my heart lie scattered on the floor.
What the future holds, you never can be sure.
I know it won’t be the same what I say or do.
Remembering a love that really was so true.

I don’t know of the future the bridges still burn.
Somehow I just hope today that the tables turn.
I learn to live with and then without.
My biggest problem is all I seem to doubt
