Love Poem: Aging Beauty

Aging Beauty

Hurting inside,
My pain so deep.
I try to explain,
But only weep.
Hoping someday,
You'll understand,
Come to me,
And take my hand.
Not trying to upset you,
It's only the truth,
Aging away my beauty,
Good-bye to my youth.
Never hearing you say,
"You're beautiful to me,"
Bursting into tears,
Turning dry land into sea.
I once felt beautiful,
I heard it all the time.
Make me feel beautiful again,
Into the wishing well I chime.
For the beauty I once felt
Is no longer there,
Just an aging complexion,
Now only fair.
What will it take,
To hear those words from you?
You only say it right now,
But not in a day or two.
You forget to say it,
Though all the time you think about,
How pretty I am but don't speak,
So I can only pout.
I tell you how I feel inside,
How it's tearing me apart,
But it doesn't change a thing,
And we're back at the start.
How important it is to hear,
But only from you.
Please change your ways in this,
I need it, it's true.
How can I express the urgency,
My life of every day,
I need to hear I'm beautiful from you,
In each and every way.
