About a million years… not so long ago
I found an amazing love, but then had to let go
I remember his eyes… so shallow…yet deep
And while in his embrace… I was his to keep
And then the day came, our love was put on hold
A battle was fought, and left him in the cold
Seven days later… less than it seems
A bullet took his life, and shattered my dreams
I cried for months… days on end
And now here I am… telling a friend
