Abiding Peace

Remember to listen, beneath the whispers,
Where silence meets gentle,
Where kindness meets grace and light,
Light reflects the music of our praise, our souls,
Breaking through the stars, the heavens,
Stirring the beautiful found in the only One
Who can fill our spirits with love that is a miracle –
Sweetest miracle!

Love that is His gift to us, His children
The souls He has blessed with an eternal destiny…
Forever in the embrace of One
Who knows all our doubts, our fears, our hurts,
Every struggle, every tear – all the lonely
Reaching through the hope, the prayer, the plea –
Lifting our souls beyond the present sorrow,
Into a quiet that abides for those who live
In the shadow of His sheltering wings,
In the wonder of His breathless grace.

As the angels sing, their melody soft and soothing,
Reassuring the faith that still grows,
Even when the heartbreak is trembling,
Like hues of shame, guilt, blame – desolations
Beyond what our hearts can explain –
When the music stills our feelings, our faded pains,
Covering all our lives in magnificent, lush
Gardens of wonder, amazing – beyond optimistic.

Love, the lasting light
Feeding the moments in beautiful,
Surrounding the soul with hues of soothing,
Erasing the darkness, the brooding
Lingering in the spirit’s gasp, at last
Inviting the faithful hearts to grow more alive,
Surviving the darkness, enduring the grief,
Though mourning stirs, there is a morning,
Where dewdrops rejoice, in authentic tears.

Love, His gift to every believer –
The knowledge of a gift, raising the spirit
To its destiny, its beginnings
In a place far from this world,
A place of light and love and lasting dreams,
The kind that find solace in the glorious
Praises, graceful and gracious, exalting –
This giver of every kind of mercy,
This giver of faith, eternal enjoyment,
The miracle of life beyond death, beyond doubt,
Beyond this life where trouble we expect,
Where struggles, you see, become,
Not failure, but our best blessings…

Our reasons, our lights, our eternity with One
Who teaches us to give, to pray, to praise,
Because without His love, there is no way to say…
We’ve grown in faith – grown because we’ve known,
What it means to labor, though our load – He says,
Is much lighter than the One that was His,
When He carried His cross up Golgotha’s hill.
Saying, love – in His still, small voice – doing God’s will,
Offering our souls the way to know Him
And live forever with Him, abiding in eternal peace!
