Love Poem: Abandoned Garden

Abandoned Garden

I walked across the sparkling morning dew.
A path where once uncommon beauty grew.
A bench we shared, woeful, lone, and broken,
echoes a promise that we had spoken.

Our world the moment and so full of love.
Hope flowed freely through soft currents above.
Your gentle hand entwined within my own,
A deeper love no one has ever known.

Romantic dreams still swirl across the air
with each heartbeat I feel a dull despair.
The mist now turns to a luminous fog,
a solo love song from a crooning frog.

You have gone and now so has this garden
abandoned to winds that grant no pardon.
I sit among the dried and withered weeds
and ask the Lord, my early death He speeds.

To seek her beauty through these moonlit eyes
my anguished heart wistfully yearns and cries.
Speed me to her long awaited embrace
and hasten me from this pitiful place.
