Abandon

With him beside me, recklessness intensified I knew a wildness which colored my spirit purple A color I know would begin to describe me inside The way that it feels to know this uninhibitedness ~~~ With him beside me, there was a license for freedom I knew waves of unrestrained joy and acceptance Feelings that taught me what it means to be so alive Filled with the assurance that I need feel no reserve ~~~ With him beside me, control was never truly known I knew what it meant to be delighted by my insights Enchanted by the beautiful inspirations that soothed me Creating a tapestry of vivid emotions flowing within ~~~ With him beside me, unruliness brought enlightenment I knew feelings of pure passion that thrust me forward Caressing my dreams with a gentle madness of creativity Keeping me aware that the insanity could breathe life to free ~~~ With him beside me, liberation from worry soothed my anxieties I knew the sweet release from lost hopes and desperate worrying Freedom brought about in me ~ relief that surrounded my heart Pushing me to keep believing in the joy that had cured me ~~~ With him beside me, I could let go of all the past pain and hurt I knew what it means to be healed and move on toward tomorrow Where I could begin to see the light that streams from heaven Flowing down to earth in colors so intense and mellow they beckon ~~~ With him beside me, intemperance could never touch my dreams I knew that greed would pass over me without existing in me Reassuring me that my faith would be enough to complete and create A river of joyful rapids which fell across my heart to console all losses ~~~ With him beside me, ridding me of the feelings that depressed me I knew what it means to share my deepest dreams, beliefs and wisdom Unburdening my soul with friendship which would always console Bringing about true joy, kindness and a sense of real compassion Thesaurus - Abandon or Abandoned Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Dear Heart Written and Posted on June 14, 2020
