A Word From Yesterday
Grace, she had deemed absurd,
she fought memory's bluebird,
a voice she'd forgotten,
misty conscience was blurred.
A teen peer-pressure nerd,
shadows posed by the herd;
their gray counsel gotten,
crimson standards deferred.
Tempest on the shore incurred;
Temptation to give in spurred;
Love shouldn't feel so rotten
The Spirit’s leading now preferred.
Voice on her shoulder heard;
more mature musings stirred,
Harvest of thoughts begotten,
yesterday's yardstick - God’s Word.
