A Vision Evanescent

When the sun set, and night descended, When the day with all its unrest quietly fled, Feeling tired and sleepy, I closed the door And languidly got onto my cozy bed. At an unexpected time and hourof the night You broke upon me as a euphonic melody In the wee hours when I was in deep slumber You barged into my thoughts as a sweet memory Your voice trailed across to me Waking me from my lethargic sleep Sweeping my indolent languor away Filling me with sensations deep I felt the warmth of your tumultuous passion The soft touch of your caring hands The musky odor of your fragrant breath And the gentleness in your adoring glance You opened the windows to let in the light Not leaving me grope in blinding night You took me to the seas of shore less delight And hovered over me like a heavenly sprite You enlivened every atom of my being Kindled in me the fire of desire Swept me off my feet in inundating tides of love Setting my sleeping passions into flames of fire Alas, with my senses lulled to sleep Leading me into a state of illusory calm Through the window lying ajar You faded out like an evanescent dream! Again, when you come, stay longer with your charms To gently wake up from sleep, enfolded in each other’s arms October.9.2022 The Mystical Dream Poetry Contest Sponsor- Anoucheka Gangabissoon
