Love Poem: A Thousand Things I Miss

A Thousand Things I Miss

On this cold December eve
It’s just me and the moon
Remembering the night we met
You came to hear me croon
Girl, I saw a shooting star
It was the sparkle in your eye
First sight love was all in the air
And I fell so hard.. I can’t deny

Tonight, I strum this old guitar
A broken heart sings a melody
Snow flakes dance on the wind
I’m lost in those sweet memories
We had a love few will ever know
From that first night to best friends
I try and fail to hide a sad goodbye
How can forever love come to an end

This park bench.. once made for two
Right here we shared our first kiss
There was such magic in your smile
Now I sing of a thousand things I miss
Oh, the moon holds secrets we shared
And between the lines of my songs
Romance came easy for you and me
Girl, sitting here alone feels so wrong

Tonight, I strum this old guitar
I’d do anything for one more kiss
A broken heart sings a melody
Of a thousand things I miss

A thousand things I miss
