A Table For Two

Light of sun on a bright sunny day

kindle us up, throughout the way

Its retaliating nature was never seen before

I paused and thought, but it wasn’t its chore

Reminding me of my life: a puppet show

scrolling through the tunnel, sun refused to glow

The more I walked the more I was soaked

more than thirst, memories were choked

Nearby shed was not any near

sun at ’12’, body full with tears

at ‘3’ ahead of me was a small short eat

a place full packed, long waiting for a seat!

My token asked me to wait for a while

story of my life: – papers with no file!

then a loud man shouted my name

I got a table for two at a corner under frame

A women was asked to share my occupance

and there was my mind crossing the fence!

She was the one from grass huts

yet she was happier ‘no if’s, no but’s’

I was not quenched with whatever I had

but her bowl of soup could made her glad

I was the one with ‘everything’

but she was the one with ‘every’ thing!

She suddenly saw the sadness in my eyes

“what happened?” she asked in a deep voice

I told her about my broken heart, in tone of a dead

I told her about the tears I have shed

Leaving the place she came towards me

hugged me and said “Life is too short to be sad”

the stunning thing I saw apart from my nags

she was full of life, even with ‘both wooden legs‘.
