A Starving Voice

Life once existed empty of light and blank.
Ugly, dull it all looked in the creator's eyes.
Nature was caged, choked by day's night
Till a voice pierced too deep and drove the dark.

Nature runs stark naked from that day forth
Sprouts in beauty just to please distant eyes.
Waves at warm faces, dances to earth's song.
It hisses and clicks to catch a hard eye.

Frowns when not one eye seems to be there.
Paints and sprays just to slay and pull an eye.
Constant mirror checks to remain a magnet.
A desire that defines the beauty of the rest.

It searches deep for an ear that can sit.
It pours it's heart into cups very much low.
It sings loudly after the last beat sinks.
An unending search for a soul called home.
