A Song To Rhea

Ah, Rhea, Rhea, how is it
that we meet again
Now, when meeting lacks a rhyme?

Once long ago, far away once
We shared an eve, a love: I still remember:
You were sad. sad beyond tears,
Sad a lifetime's years.
And you so young.

But there was an elf in your heart,
Muffled, clothed for Winter:
Even so, he spoke; and when he spoke
He lit your eyes, and brief you 'woke:

I loved you for that elf, I think,
But it left nothing, was without fruit:
Wrong place, wrong time, but not wrong love -
No, not wrong love - never fault the love.
We only missed.

So now, now! of all times
Miles and years from home, having left
To search for things, our searches bring us here
But now it's too late.

Have you found what you were looking for?

Do you remember what it was?
