A Perfect Image
A perfect image, in him is what we see,
A perfect example of what we want to be.
A perfect image in showing love,
Is, our heavenly father, our God above.
We were all created in his image, it is said,
We have the potential inside us, it is not dead.
Our godlike qualities of love, hope, and peace,
Are alive and well, just need to be released.
We are not perfect, this we know well,
He knows it too, on this we should dwell.
His perfect image we try our best to reflect,
knowing perfection from us he doesn't expect.
Imitating his love, peace and grace,
Will always bring a smile of approval to his face.
We can still please him, if only we try,
to reflect his image, not asking why.
His kindness, his love, we can still imitate,
we're like cracked mirrors, our sorry state.
When others look at us, what do they see?
