A Man and a Flower

very short, abridged, edited, small version.

There was a cave, deep within the hills
Of St Francis
A seedling traveled by the black crow
And was dropped on the wings of a dove
Only to tumble tumble, down, earthenly bound
The journey of life only begun
The seedling now blown by the winds of time
Fell beneath the earth itself
Into a cavern, unseen, in sleep

The earth hugged this seedling
A daughter of the Gods
There was no sun to caress her growth
Hidden deep, a small miracle bloomed
Into a flower as pretty as the loveliest of handmaidens
Dressed in sapphires, pearls and the finest of silks
Heaven itself, unto earth, in a cave unseen

A man, a simple man they said, shepherding his animals
He spoke no words, from birth till now
And thus was called the village fool
A rainy day, and one lost of his flock
Brought him to the hillside crevice
And down he went, to explore his soul
The darkness wrapped him in comfort

A voice he heard with a start
And a dim cast glow, even deeper still
Who goes there? He thought, no spoken words
The flower, heard, and spoke the same silence
It is I, a flower, all alone and trapped below
Banished, from the grace of gods beauty above
And so began, what same may say, a love story

A man found a friend in this glorious bloom
And the flower, so enjoyed to be seen
I am not of beauty, the flower wept
No sun to make my petals sweet
The man, bent, and smelled the fragrance deep
You are truly the most beautiful of flowers
For to me you speak!

He kissed her petals and she touched his soul
And daily, their ritual of love did grow
The dance of life, they did share
Till one day, clouds of despair
Rains tumbled from the skies, to down below
Drowning out sorrows, for we all do know

The darkness of the cave soon will win
Life must end for the new to begin
They where old and happy and entwined in life
And sad to depart as anyone would
They left their seeds, sure that wisdom stood
Life to replenish heavens gains

That flood that was, well miracles did grow
From the seeds that past loves surely did sew
And beautiful flowers, plentiful did bloom
The cycle of life, once again did create
They flourished without the heat of sun
Waiting for love, for they could not run

Heavenly gods from above did see
Beyond the darkness of the caves below
The dark ages of life, will fall at last
And all the flowers, beauty and gold
Were brought above, elegant colors displayed so bold
The flowers found love, the stars did shine

A man and his flower forever enshrined.
