A Little Cloud Said Rain

A LITLE CLOUD SAID RAIN
TO A TINY EARTH SO DRY
A PRECIOUS SEED HEARD SPROUT
FROM A SUN SO HIGH
UNTIL A LOVELY FLOWER GREW
AND SOON BEGAN TO BLOOM
AND THAT'S THE WAY I'D HAVE TO SAY
GOD GIVES THE EARTH PERFUME

SO WHEN LOVING COMES A KOCKING
YOU'D BETTER LET HER IN
YOU'D BETTER LET HER IN
CAUSE SHE MIGHT NOT COME AGAIN
THAT'S WHY IT'S DISCONCERTING
DOWN RIGHT UNFAIR
THAT OUT OF MANY
THERE'S HARDLY ANY
ONES WHO REALLY CARE

A HANDSOME MAN SAID LOVE
TO A LOVELY GIRL SO SHY
ANOTHER LIFE BEGAN FROM
ANOTHER SOURCE ON HIGH
AND WE'RE ALL FLOWER CHILDREN
LIVES OF EVERY HUE
APPEAR THE LITTLE BOY IN ME
AND THE LITTLE GIRL IN YOU

SO WHEN LOVING COMES A KNOCKING
BETTER LET HER IN
BETTER LET HER IN
CAUSE SHE MIGHT NEVER COME AGAIN
THROUGH STORMS OR SUNNY WEATHER
ENJOY LIFE'S GAME
NO ENDEAVOR LASTS FOREVER
BUT LOVE ALWAYS REMAINS
