Love Poem: A Lifetime Loss

A Lifetime Loss

The Friend that I adore, with whom i took an eternal oath
Always there for me and I for him despite the rough road
Walking together, two bodies but one soul,

Enjoying the blessing of having one another
Seeing others envy of our unbreakable bond
Realizing it is something we should be grateful of

But, time was soaring around to give us another role
A role, where I and my friend to play alone
Not like the good old days everywhere together

My friend got a state call to defend for us all
Standing in the boarder for me and others like me
To have a good night sleep and stand tall

Counting the days for my friend to come back home
Becoming the habit that I love most, living my day
Holding my breath, fear of hearing a bad tone

Weeks replaced months, months replaced years
One silent morning started with a knock from my door
Walking with a trembling heart not sure if it was a fear or anger

A letter from my friend submitted by a stranger
Impatient that I became to see “soon I will be home”
But, it was a farewell letter to take away my last hope

It was then the guest told me that it was written in the last moment
In the moment of life and death rushing to say “I will always be with you”
A letter soaked with his blood, packed with his love telling me to be the strongest person alive!
