A Childs Transition

A childs frustration is hard for parents to understand
For they are caught between childhood and being a teen,
The changes they are experiencing in body and in mind
Is very difficult for them to sort out the in between.

A child needs to know you love and trust them
Yet they need to know you are still the boss,
Listen to them when they ask for your advice
About the many obstacles they have to cross.

Don't push them away by saying you've not the time
For you may push them away from you for good,
They need to know you are always there for them
That they will turn out the way you hope they would.

Be patient if things are not always the way they should be
Give them guidance, yet not br to strict or severe,
Show them you love them and not show them anger
For they will see not the love , but only the anger they will hear.

Do not ever let them leave without saying I love you
Without expressing how your love for them runs deep,
The rest you just let go and put them in Gods hands
Put all your faith in him and their safety he will keep.
