Love Poem: Whispering Mysteries

Whispering Mysteries

Australian Stars are shining
in a southern night,
beating with a heart
streaming with no fright

Visions in a land
that first made up the dream,
all that you can see
is not what it may seem

Mysteries in a place
where no white men pass,
walking in a wilderness
seeping with years past

Emus range along
loping with a stride
kangaroos are bouncing
head held up in pride

Crocodiles our dinosaurs
lurking in the murk
don’t you go a swimming
so you don’t get hurt

Whispers in the rocks
making blood ice cold,
shivers in a night
shaking legs do hold

Eerie are the plains
echoed life imports,
bits of mystical memory
flowing through they sort

Religions of all colours
and faces of all hues,
meeting hand to hand
they fly across the blue

Filling up with culture
from many different lands,
mixing into magic
with the joining of our hands

Filling to the brim
pride does steel our backs,
but helping other lands
our army changes tack

Dancing with the stars
or singing to the moon,
we will always strive
but singing our own tune
