Unraveling Illusions

Saffron coated dreams
rolled into mind,
clouding all
and touching nothing,
lisping to entice
promising to feel

Sapphire nights
at windows edge,
in shadow
I saw you pass,
starting,
at a familiar curve of face
my heart paused
and contracted
speeding to tremble,
my chest on fire
But,
it was just that,
my mind again playing
an endless circle,
of a blind leading mind
to the always
inevitable,
emptiness

Fallen leaves brush my face
I am with you again,
laying next to a stream
cords of rippling flesh
glisten the waterfalls
and magic melting in and
to these moments,
alas,
it was just the curtain
dancing in the wind,
bringing thought of you
with a sweet and sour
longing,
its aftertaste bitter,
still,
I crave more

I close my eyes
leaning back into eons
embracing sadness
comforted in memory
Yet,
I still cry for you
yearning in the dark
for a wisp
I cannot wake

I’m awoken by another
the emptiness,
holding me in his embrace,
sucking to taste my life
living in this darkness,
Thus,
I commence
the unbecoming
in beginning of his
darkened pustulous reign,
I am devolving,
in saffron coated dreams,
empty
