Yet we spent so much time together,

I always felt strangely stirred.

That my course would not be yours.
You always played a straight bat
And confided totally in me.
In that we were soulmates,
Though one secret I did hold back.
I was always your willing listener,
Your voice shooting shivers of ecstasy through me.
But I found it too painful
To let you know how I really felt.
When you met Jenny,my world dissolved.
How I had hoped you would reciprocate my love.
But, to you ,we were just best friends and real good mates.
