Love Poem: So Platonically

So Platonically

You may think without a doubt,
they had me and I enjoyed it a lot;
but your angry and jealous eyes
wander how I keep this secret to myself!

I am ready to make
my commitment;
and I'll be faithful
to the one I adore;
I'll be tender
and sensible;
and I hope you'll believe
that no one has ever
loved me so platonically...
to make an irony of me!

You wished you had taken
more time to know me better;
to trust my feelings longer,
but  rush and distrust
twisted your opinion
and effected your judgement...
to make our joy shallow and useless,
and justify your actions with cleverness!

You're so platonically attracted to me
and erase any evidence
when I refuse to give in
or resist your temptation,
but the lack of patience
is none other than unjustified frustration
when you're so platonically
and madly drawn to me!
