Forgiveness

Forgiveness

You approached when I was a simple girl
and was charmed as you expressed love for me.
I possessed an innocent heart of pearl,
                    emotionally devoted to thee.

Tingling passion arose as you came close.
Romance rolled as if not to get apart.
Unfolding feeling you dared to propose.
Earnest desire I felt in my heart.

Territory of love was built in vain.
             Lover turned coward, relation coiled.
Ardour terminated in anger and pain.
            I was devoted, destiny spoilt.

I discarded him and just walked away,

             *. '*. ; *

Days , months, passed, my mind started to burn.
It seemed, I could neither forgive nor forget.
Years passed, my mind turned hard and stern.
Gradually life became smooth leaving no regret.

To remain single I was decisive.
without any grudge or complain to life.
Girl attained maturity with outlook positive.
Gone through troubles, hazards and strife.

Suddenly you appeared to beg apology.
Without any emotion, I could have promptly refused
‘ Forgotten all. Love and desire lost analogy.'
But you prayed with ardent ardour making me amused,
' I remember everything, please forgive and be mine.'
Dark night ended in delighted dawn: Grief and joy entwined.

My heart melted and Morning Sun shone crimson.
I forgave and got back my beloved on unison.
