Anchor of Trust
Clinging to the reality of your world,
you engage in a game of love and deceit.
And devastating emotions are unfurled,
for oaths vowed in passion oft taste bittersweet.
Giving lust free reign opened your heart to pain,
as hopes were uprooted, unable to grow.
And fantasy's seeds were all planted in vain,
stomped underfoot in your dance with Diablo.
Looking back, you've lost sight of tomorrow;
and with no anchor of trust, relations drift.
Overwhelmed by betrayal, you drown your sorrow
in a sea of tears, where the currents run swift.
The pain intensifies till you prefer death,
for when there are no answers, you fail love's test.
Anxieties climb, and panic steals your breath,
for deep in your heart, you fear you've tried your best.
