No Not Rich, Letter To My Pastor

Dear Pastor

This morning, as I thought upon the goodness of God,
tears began to fall from my eyes and sobbing sounds came forth.
I was alone in the kitchen, and only The Lord saw and heard.

I was reminded of a conversation with a new neighbor with
Whom I was sharing things about our church back in Sacramento.
I shared how our church people were such givers to the work of the Lord
both locally and abroad. His question to me was, “Are they rich?” My reply
to him was, “No, they are just hard-working everyday people who love God”.

Pastor Mark, as I have done for nearly 20 years now, I wanted
To share things with you that The Lord lays upon my heart. The
Following are simply tokens of blessings that come to mind that
we have experienced.

Ten years ago, a CONTRACTOR refused to accept a $1500 check
after completing the work. The check remains in my possession.
Some five years ago, a MECHANIC came to fix my SUV and said,
“God told me not to charge you”. A DEAR LADY discovered that we
Needed Tires for our vehicle. She paid for a completely new set of tires and demanded that I not buy the cheap ones. She’s the same lady that
paid for the transmission that I needed in the SUV. A DEAR COUPLE paid for
our passports, scheduled, and paid for a cruise. They had taken many cruises
and wanted to share their joy with us. The cruise was canceled because of COVID-19, but their gracious and loving hearts are knitted to ours forever.
Another BUSINESSMAN had a new garage door installed in our home. Upon completion, I asked for a bill. His ‘charges’ was a hug from my wife. ANOTHER COUPLE gave us a very good car and paid for the smog and registration. Another COUPLE paid for five nights of accommodation when we moved in February.

Pastor Mark. It is not about these material things alone, but rather about their hearts. I cannot say enough about you and New Life-how much you mean to us. Much love forever.
