To Share One's Dreams

All I asked for was love to be real and mold my heart like it was Potter's clay. But I question, is it love that folks feel, or are competing emotions at play? Is love a dream, fragile as papier-mache, a collage of hopes that easily fray? I tried family; though I'd find love there, and yet, nothing was there but tears and pain. Never having felt loved, it seemed unfair that I kept failing again and again. I knew naught affection, only disdain, whatever hopes I gleaned were all in vain. I looked to friends for love to no avail, for though love sprang from their lips, it was lies. I believed love to be a fairytale until we met, and you opened my eyes. You taught me love is genuine, sweetheart, now I can't imagine being apart. Having found love is like living a dream, I'm so happy I want to shout and scream.
