Love Poem: Lost Love and Eternal Love

Lost Love and Eternal Love

In the summer we'd meet and we'd sip iced tea, and the waiter saw kisses as people passed; as I whispered my feelings into your ear, I was sure in my heart that our love would last. Love can be a moment or an eternity. Now the winter is here and your heart has closed, all the warmth that we shared is now frigid cold; and I wonder what changed; why I lost your love, as I sit at our table alone, unloved and old. Love can be a moment or an eternity. In the fall we went for long peaceful walks, hand in hand in lust, but still so unsure; I wanted you to say, I love you dear, then in time, you asked and I said, yes sir. Love can be a moment or an eternity. In the spring, so excited we married forever, it was a perfect union and full of beauty; and although God took you home one day, our sweet love will last for all of eternity. _________________________ November 25, 2015 Poetry/Rhyme/Lost Love and Eternal Love Copyright Protected, ID 15-729-675-0 All Rights Reserved.
