If only you knew, the things I think inside
I wonder then what you’d think of him, that silent, smiling boy
Would you see the regrets I carry? Would you see the regrets I’ll make?
Then where would that leave me? Would I be the guy you’d want to see?
If only you knew, the path I’ve taken in life
I wonder then what you’d think of him, that hard-working, focused man
Would you see the short cuts I took? Would you see the mistakes I hid?
Then what would you say? Would you see me as you do today?
If only you knew, the way I feel about you
I wonder then what you’d think of him, that desperate, secluded guy
Would you see my face turn red when you’re near? Would you see me speak like a fool?
Then how would you feel? Would your heart be something you’d let me steal?
