If I Wrote This Life Down In a Book What Would It Say

I was molded in the beginning just like a piece of clay
Learning and growing each and every day
Taught the basic skills and faith for God above
But the most important thing was to know how to love

If I wrote this life down in a book what would it say
No words can express it without including you in everyway
It doesn’t matter what I’ve done or what I will ever do
To sum it all up I’d just draw a picture of you

Time passes on and its work and school
I got away from it only to play the fool
But then I met you and it rekindled the flame
If I had to die now Id just write your name

If I wrote this life down in a book what would it say
No words can express it without including you in everyway
It doesn’t matter what I’ve done or what I will ever do
To sum it all up I’d just draw a picture of you

It wouldn’t need chapters about my long journey
Only a description of you which matters most to me
No long boring story drawn out about me
Just a painted portrait for everyone to see

If I wrote this life down in a book what would it say
No words can express it without including you in everyway
It doesn’t matter what I’ve done or what I will ever do
To sum it all up I’d just draw a picture of you

We grew together and forever we will never part
You would know me if I left the sound of her beating heart
When I’m old and ready to leave this place
All I need to leave us the sketch of your face

If I wrote this life down in a book what would it say
No words can express it without including you in everyway
It doesn’t matter what I’ve done or what I will ever do
To sum it all up I’d just draw a picture of you
