If I Fell In Love With a Poet

“If I fell in love with a poet” Inspired by Silent One’s “When a Poet falls in Love”. ******* If I fell in love with a poet How wonderful life would be To wake each morning to a poem Would be euphoric for me. There'd be joy and glory in living The wonders of all I'd see Hearing endearing sounds of nature's Charm of creativity. Bird tweets would be enchantingly sweet Music would bring me to tears Every emotion stirred and shaken Each time a poem appeared. Poets cause ecstatic devotion Inciting the heart and mind Pleasing to recipients senses Going to one's head like wine. I love all words written of romance Shooting my heart like a dart If I fell in love with a poet He'd be holder of my heart. My sweetheart could present his poems For the whole wide world to see But I'd know the truth inside my heart Every word was meant for me. If I fell in love with a poet I'd be happy all life long Inspiration of every sonnet Libretto to every song. My ideal man is a poet No other would ever do I once fell madly for a poet But he fell for slinky Sue.
