Come Fly Away With Me, Tonight

At night when I restless lay down to sleep Thoughts of you linger, tugging at my heart Your spirit calls, across treadbare highways Riding hard and fast upon a warm southern wind Crossing asphalt, stones; meadows and vale Over boundaries, you implore my heart, 'wait' Arriving breathless you soothe me with caresses Plant kisses on my lips murmuring sweet words, urging, 'Let's Fly! Come away with me, now! tonight!’ Ands two hearts entwined take flight into night We dance to our music, with a rhythm all their own Beneath a blanket of dazzling stars Then soar, exploring ‘til night fades to day Breathless, exhausted, in quietude lay Awaiting the golden, glorious sunrise 'Let's fly! Come away with me, now! Tonight!' Come tomorrow when the dew has settled When no restraint is laid upon these wings Time arrives and crystal waters will flow no more 'Til then love remains encased in a fort Built with trust and fired by steel Which no mortal soul can ever bridge And hearts no more will suffer want Our fears cast in dungeons deep Sealed by eternal love yet burning In spite of trials, tears and the scars From many fierce battles two hearts emerged as one Through fire and storms they have come The many distractions in attempts to impede Only fan flames of an endless love Each night we close our eyes and dream Awaiting the golden, glorious sunrise ~*~
