Love Poem: What Say I

What Say I

I will share with you the thoughts of a fool
Thoughts of my own concerning a planet
The moon is a rock, too hot and too cool
No water, no air, and a heart of granite

I told my lady of craters and dust
Of the dangers of meteors and such
She yawned and nodded and said that she must
Get some sleep as she did not care that much

Then came the day that a stranger appeared
And talked of romance 'neath a harvest moon
He described an orb that glowed and endeared
And meshed with love and the cry of the Loon

Then what say I to such mundane fretting
A fool such as I went to their wedding
