The Passing of a Day
Dawn draws nigh o'er eastern sky
The orange sun shows his face
Flowers start to recognize
The warmth of his embrace
He'll chase away the darkness that
Had once consumed our night
He'll rise up high and proud above
So we can see his light
He warms the planet Earth with love
And ultra-violet rays
He makes for better picnics
And for better swimming days
But when his shift is over
And he meets the western sea
He'll wave goodbye to lovers
With his colored reverency
