Love Poem: The Lost Life

The Lost Life

The sound of the bass
Triggered the noise
Just minutes to sunset
Music filled the streets
Paving the crowd
He stood beside me
Far away from the stage
He looked calm and discreet
Tired by the responsibilities
And the monotony of his work
For him, stardom's heaven
Loved and respected,
Envied by men,
And greeted by schmoes
A life he wished for
But love, his nemesis
Washed away his zeal
Took him far down
To a place
From where there was no escape
He stood numb, locked in dreams
He wished to stay there
With the noise at its peak
I watched my son
Lost in his world
