Shield of Fear
Time pauses when your heart’s breaking,
and you feel each minute detail.
Yet the truth of the matter is,
dreams and wishes rarely prevail.
Love cannot see beyond the lies,
blinded by their masking effect.
And anchored in reality,
hope forgives moments of neglect.
Love's song is meant as a duet
orchestrated by happy hearts.
For it's an intimate tune with
its harmony played in two parts.
Love does not follow rigid rules,
its path is unpredictable.
And yet, when two halves merge as one,
their future is predictable.
Love’s an intangible feeling
that morphs into a kiss or tear.
So, when eternal bliss beckons,
try lowering your shield of fear.
