My Beloved Home Town

Do you remember the little soda shop,
Where we'd buy one soda and ask for two straws?
We'd sip very slowly, not wanting to stop,
Until the glass emptied and we had to pause.
So young and so carefree and in love, we'd hop
From one store to the next and laugh just because.
We loved our home town, where we wanted to stay,
Until we grew up and life got in the way.
