Fool's Gold

Fool's Gold - 15 November 2016

Fool’s gold is all glitter and shiny,
But leaves your hands empty and slimy.
The best way to describe you
And your character so untrue.

I had you in my arms;
So sure you’d keep me from harm.
But instead you brought it to my door,
Leaving my heart broken on the floor.

You seemed so wise and kind;
Turns out I had been blind.
The flatter and flirting was never for me,
But I was too love-starved to see.

I thought you were my prince Charming,
And fell for you without warning.
There are no more tears on my face;
I am now merely an empty space.
