Birth
What is this miracle of birth,
A soul unique and pure;
And who but God to judge its worth,
If hope is to endure.
Beauty of things that might,
When lost by selfish deeds;
Deny the world a ray of light,
And love of God recedes.
Hold true that life is heaven sent,
Its path unknown by man;
God's will at birth was never meant,
To change his holy plan.
