All These Unsaid Words

Your life as a prince and mine as a pauper
What is it you want? I've got nothing to offer
In no book or song, do any words say
That loving someone could hurt in this way
Asphyxiate beneath a blanketing cloud
Of all the things I should never say out loud
It's hard to decipher who's damsel, who's hero
You can't separate your soul from your ego
For you they are equal, one and the same
But I see the difference and there lies the blame
Your psyche reflects me and savours the chase
Your barren responses bred from the wrong place
You think what you say makes me smile, makes me stronger
They're only foundations to ensure you conquer
And all these unsaid words, I'm saving them up
Then maybe one day they'll be more than enough
'Cos if you let me touch you, I won't ever let go
I'd fight to my death for you, just so you know
That when I want something so badly, deal done
I'll give you a headstart
I suggest you run.
