Love Poem: All Mine
Joyce Johnson Avatar
Written by: Joyce Johnson

All Mine

I've not seen another like it
on any other face
and I fear on someone else's
it might look out of place.

I can fit my thumb into it
and claim it as my own
as notice to the other girls,
this is a tread-free zone.

You wear it without thought or pride.
You've had it since your birth.
I will bet when she first saw it
your mama knew its worth.

Honey, please wear it carefully.
Don't let it come to harm.
I think your chin's deep dimple is
unmitigated charm.
