All Around Me
Sometimes I make up a story
To soothe my mind for a time
I live in make-believe
And you are by my side
But in reality, you are not there
Even as my eyes meet your stare
I can't follow into the light
Without you by my side
Sometimes I start to cry
When my thoughts marinate in you
Because I know through this ride
That I haven't seen your side
All I know of you
Is how much you mean to me
And when you say I am kind
I can't find you even near my side
Long ago I came to see
That you are the only one for me
And those many days long ago
I was with you, but you'll never know
That you are here in my story
That you are here in my mind of reality
That you are here when I shed a tear
That you are here through your minimum words
That you are my past, present and future
And not just by my side
But all around me
