Ain'T Lovin' Me

loving you is making me so very tired.
lonesome at times when the memories flash.
loving you, my eyes grow dark.

"darlyn, are we dead?"

my world was put on reserve
when i came into your room
five years ago.

loving you is stagnant,
because you want loving on the side.
like loving me is something to hide.
now, baby, this doesn't feel much like loving at all.

you are the reason i fall,
because loving you is terrifying.
lonesome at times when the words never last.
i thought it was real because it came fast.
but you don't know the meaning of love,
and i feel sorry.

like how breathing gets harder
just from being around them.
like when the heart skips a beat
and you know it could last.

you don't know the true meaning of love.
you never took the time to know me.
oh, you should have gotten to know me.
i saw who you really were
and overlooked the flaws,
even when the same mistakes kept happening.

you should have gotten to know me.
you should have seen the real me,
not this thing that's been dead since she was twenty.
you should have gotten to know me,
you could have really loved me.

your need to be free is all i can see.
now, with nothing left but a memory,
i understand that loving you, ain't loving me.
