Love Poem: Absence of Comfort

Absence of Comfort

What arms wrap 'round when I need someone there?
What lips touch mine to show they care?
What hands are made to show me love?
What eyes are shining with love I speak of?

There are no arms, no lips, no eyes.
No hands to hold me, just full blown lies.
Lies of which I'm aware but unable to turn
From the one whom my flame continues to burn.

My heart calls out and bleeds to no end
I'm begging for him to be my friend.
I need him to show me just what I mean
But to him I'm not sure I mean anything.

He's brainwashed me well to think that he's right.
Although we don't sleep together at night.
We don't share many happy memories
So many empty moments to seize.

But its too late for those, too late to go back.
We've fallen so far now away from the track.
I don't know what you want to say
And I know that it won't come today.

But some time you'll look back, and see what you had.
You'll realize I wasn't the one doing bad.
That having a woman who's there by your side
Is worth all the downsides and worthy of pride.
