A Time For Us
Dreamers celebrating youth
fell in love with each other.
Blending first-time experiences with
desires and hopes built anticipation
and energized our excitement for life.
In our garden, it was spring,
a time to plant our flowers.
And dedicating ourselves to their growth,
we enjoyed the best of our lives with hope,
knowing what it's like to love and be loved.
They sprouted in summer's heat
beyond spring's shower of tears.
And lit life's party candle at both ends,
wanting to see all with eyes wide open,
taking in what the Earth offers for free.
Before we knew it, Autumn
was just around the corner.
We'd reached our golden years, a time for us
to reap a harvest from the seeds love's sown
and enjoy the sweet fruits of mature blooms.
Aware of winter's approach,
love sees no need for alarm.
