A Time.

Yesterday as the air brushed my face I was reminded of a time when laughter
was the sound I longed to here from sun raise to sunset, from here to there,
Laughter made all the pain go away it stopped all the tears brightened any day it
put a twinkle in my eyes and a spring in my step,
at 9 the world was kind a friend was a friend fear was in the movies and the man
next door was just that the man next door I played with out a care,
at 36 the world is different the grass is n`t as green the ski is n`t as blue and fear
as a parent you always have it in out minds it`s well kept.
as a kid I walked for miles, I played at the park with out fear that some one would
take my away ,
I ran up hills hid in the bushes sat under trees I trusted everyone to me kids
didn`t die and there cry where always heard,
today when my kids ask why , why was that girl taken and murdered , why was
that little boy killed I`m not sure what to say,
what can you say there taken from their homes, their schools, their back yards by
friends family even parents ....and murdered.
was this happening when I was a child did my mom fear for my life the way I do
for my kids when there not by my side,
on TV I fill for the parents who lost there child I get angry at the ones who didn`t
protect there child and for that child inside ....I cry,
it was never their fault they were just mine yours their child,
it`s the murders, rapist, drug dealers, drunk drivers, and the ones who should
have never had children they silenced the laughter, stopped the playing they are
the ones who took their smile,
I remember a time ....a place ....I remember as the air brushed my face,
